Bubble tea has definitely made its mark in Vancouver! I think it’s safe to say that we’ve been long over due for quality bubble teas (I’m sorry Bubble World, you don't make the cut). I’m super stoked to announce that Chatime has finally arrived. With two branches of bubble tea stores in Vancouver and one in Richmond – we finally get to taste the number one bubble tea brand in the world.

Disclaimer:  I was invited to this media event by ChineseBites & Chatime. Drinks were complimentary - All opinions are my own

Chatime has over 1200 locations around the world and is producing over 100 million cups of bubble tea each year. Similar to Shiny Tea, Chatime allows you to customize your own drinks. You can change the ice level, sugar level, and choose one of eight toppings. The 8 toppings are: pearls, grass jelly, coconut jelly, red bean, coffee jelly, aloe vera, rainbow jelly, and pudding. Ice levels: regular, less, or no ice. Sugar levels: extra, regular, less, half, slight, or no sugar.

Roasted milk Tea with Grass Jelly half sweetened (#2)
Roasted Milk Tea (#1) - stronger flavour than a regular milk tea.  Out of the drinks that I've tasted, Roasted Milk Tea with Grass Jelly is my favourite. Surprisingly, their grass jelly is pleasantly sweet, flavourful and less dense compared to other grass jellies I've tried. This combination makes more a perfect drink.

Roasted Milk Tea with pearls half sweetened (#1)
My sister asked for half sweetened, but it was still too sweet for her. Must have been those pearls drenched in sugar...
Matcha Tea Latte with pearls (#9), Roasted Milk Tea with pearls (#1)
Matcha Tea Latte (#9) - hmm that gradient effect is an eye-catcher. The combination of the bitter green tea and light cream makes a refreshing drink. I think the hot matcha tea latte tasted better than than the cold one.  The hot Matcha Tea Latte tasted like a matcha latte you get at a cafe.

Thank you Chatime for making these fantastic desserts for us!

Inside the Robson Street location

Website:

Pros:
Able to adjust sugar and ice levels
Large variety of drinks
Points card

Cons:
Long wait time
Hard to find parking downtown

Will I ever go back? Yes, but to other locations
Would I crave it? I crave bubble tea all the time - especially their Grass Jelly Roasted Milk Tea
